Skin type: Normal to oily, acne-prone and sensitive (tends to get dry patches in winter)
As I stated in my previous review, I have tried a few face masks in the last weeks. Next in the thread is another mask from the Innisfree wash-off mask line. There are a total of four masks in this range; Peppermint, Rose, Grapefruit and Quinoa. Out of these four, Peppermint and Rose are already reviewed on IMBB. Let’s move on to the third mask from this wash-off range i.e. Grapefruit mask.

How to use:
After a facial wash, gently spread an adequate amount over wet skin, away from the eyes and mouth. After approximately 5 minutes, cleanse using lukewarm water. It can be used partially in the T-zone area where the pores are wide and there are a lot of blackheads. (Recommended use: once or twice a week)
My Experience with Innisfree Real Grapefruit Mask:
Innisfree real grapefruit mask comes in a small, dark-coloured tub with a silver screw lid. The container is a classic in terms of display. But at the same time, tub packaging is unhygienic, especially a mask in tub packaging. Though a tub packaging of the mask is a con already, but not providing a spatula along with is a sin. The material is very sturdy. It is not at all heavy to carry, hence, can be aptly termed travel-friendly. When you open the screw lid, there is another thin, transparent lid over the brim to prevent any spillage. Further, the mask has an outer cardboard packaging in bright orange and beige colour. All the necessary information is written over the cardboard box and glass tub in both Korean and English.
• Texture and Fragrance:
Since it is a salt based, scrub type wash-off mask, the texture is grainy. The salt is not dissolved and the granules can be seen. The mask has a thin consistency, but not liquid-like. It is thin enough just to flow on its own. There are a few chunks present in the mask that almost feel like pulp. As Innisfree hasn’t mentioned it, I don’t know what they are. The mask looks whitish but is almost transparent having salt granules and pulp in it.
It smells strong, but not off-putting or irritating, of grapefruit. The fragrance is really crisp and heavenly-a perfect treat for citrus fragrance lovers. I don’t have to wait for the fragrance. It hits my nose as soon as I remove the transparent lid from it.
As the direction to use say, I spread an adequate amount over wet skin for approximately 5 minutes. Later, I rinse off with normal water. Though it is mentioned to rinse with lukewarm water, I don’t. There is only one reason why I don’t use lukewarm water; it puts me off to wait for anything and it is quite a task for me to switch on the geyser and wait for the lukewarm water to wash off my face. Even with the normal water, it gets rinsed off easily.
As we already know, salt dries out the skin. Hence, I use this wash-off mask only in T-zone. Though this salt-based, scrub-type wash off mask has glycerine as its base, still there is no need to apply salt where you do not need it. I have a few open pores around nose and whiteheads over the nose and under the chin. Thus, I apply the mask only on nose and chin. The application is completely mess-free. While applying, I can feel the salt granules. The moment I put the mask over the skin, I start to feel a tingling sensation. The sensation is not uncomfortable and it remains there for complete 5 minutes, till I rinse off the mask. Now, if you have any broken skin (broken in the sense wounded or popped pimples) or irritated skin, it will sting badly and I suggest you do not apply to those areas. I leave it for 5 minutes without any scrubbing or massaging. Just like that for a few minutes.
After leaving for 5 minutes, I rinse it off with normal water. It gets rinsed off easily without making the skin slippery or leaving residue behind.
Post rinsing, the skin is very much clearer. It cleanses the pores deeply and reduces their visibility. Because of the moisturizing base, the mask does not dry out the skin or strip it from moisture. It makes the skin smoother and softer. The mask does an amazing job of removing the blackhead/whiteheads. In just 5 minutes of application, the whiteheads/blackheads are gone visibly and nose and chin feel much softer and smoother. It is alone capable of removing most of the whiteheads/blackheads and softens the remaining ones. I use a microfiber cloth and gently rub the nose to remove those soften whiteheads. Later, my T-zone is clear, oil-free and softer. It also helps in drying up the acne. I just put a little over a un-popped or a un-picked pimple, otherwise, it will sting badly. I just let it for 5 minutes or less, till I feel comfortable and later rinse off with normal water.
I limit the usage of this mask once a week as I don’t need it any more frequently. I don’t see whiteheads/blackheads peeking out in a week or so. And, if I don’t need it, I don’t use it.
